EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE AND DEVELOPMENT CENTER

Not veering away from the burden it has received from the Lord, Alay Pag-asa gears its efforts towards the protection and promotion of the welfare of the children through its Children Development Program.

Through the Alay Pag-asa Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Center, 100 preschoolers in SY 2006-2007 and 150 preschoolers in SY 2007-2008 were able to attend school. These children are from the three (3) communities the organization is extending help to, namely: Noah’s Ark/MRR Track, Sto. Rosario/San Miguel, both in Mandaluyong City, and Laperal Compound in Guadalupe Viejo, Makati City.

Aside from the free tuition fee, school supplies, uniforms, and books were also provided. The children were also exposed to social and recreational activities that will contribute to making them well-rounded individuals. In addition, competent teachers were also hired in order to ensure quality education.

Christian values are inculcated in the school’s curriculum as this is the core value of the organization. Alay Pag-asa wants to make sure that these children have imbibed the proper values and attitudes during their formative years.

Some reported remarkable changes in the children are:
• development of self-confidence, self-expression, and self-discipline
• better relations with their parents, teachers, and peers
• improvement of mental, oral, and motor skills
• acquisition of strong spiritual and socio-cultural values.
